Well, God will keep me, He will not let me go. I may run so far but He will always pull me back. I don't have to worry, He loves me and He'll always correct me and draw me back to Him. No worries!

I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back (His back), and not the face, in the day of their downfall. Jeremiah 18:15-17

Do you see that they turned their hearts away from the LORD? Yes, but that was then, not now. We have Jesus and He won't let us do that. So you need to read from the New Testament because all of that was the Old Covenant. Really? Jesus is God, they are One. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to-day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8 He doesn't change. The new covenant is that when you accept Jesus as your Lord, your sins will be forgiven and you are promised eternal life if you love and obey Him. Well, God just wasn't powerful enough back then to make them stay faithful to Him. See that is just it, He is all powerful and He will not MAKE you do anything. You freely come to Him and you freely stay, but if you want to go, He will let you go but it will not be without punishment.

Do not buy into this false teaching, it is a relationship that must be intimate and cultivated every single day. You want Jesus to KNOW you. Did you notice that God turned His back when they left Him. However, He will always forgive you and take you back if you humble yourself and ask forgiveness and return to Him. Always... Come to Jesus, He is the Way, and the Truth and the Life.
