What is the first thing you do when you are sick? Do you take some medicine, lay down and hope for the best? Do you make an appointment to see the doctor? Do you surf the net to try and figure out what it might be? Do you listen to the advice of others telling you home remedies and things to do to help you feel better? Do you call mom? I admit, I'm guilty of a few of these myself. Our first response should always be to seek the Lord. He made us and He knows exactly what is going on inside of us at all times. Go to Him first. And then of course it's fine to use medicine or doctors, He gives them their knowledge and wisdom and can use them in His healing process too. And Asa in the 39th year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but sought physicians. And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the 41st year of his reign. 2 Chron.16:12-13 He had messed up earlier because he did not go to the LORD first before seeking help from Syria to fight against Israel for him. The prophet of the LORD told him this: For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. But in this you have done foolishly: therefore from now on you shall have wars. 2 Chron. 16:9 This just made him mad, and here's what he did: Then Asa was angry with the seer (God's prophet), and put him in a prison house (that's coming against God's anointed); for he was in a rage with him because of this thing, And Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time. 2 Chron. 16:10 Always seek the Lord first and listen to His guidance. Then go on and do what He leads you to do. When He shows us our errors, we should cry out for forgiveness to Him and walk humbly before Him. He was shown after the war that he messed up in not putting God first. Then he had another chance to put Him first when he got sick, but he still did not. He hardened his heart and did not even ask the LORD to heal him. So he died with the diseased feet. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt.6:33 If He is Lord of your life, then He should be FIRST in all things. Ask Him to help you to be more aware to stop and ask Him first in your decisions and all that you do. God Bless y'all.
