Matt.5:13 Those who walk intimately with Jesus Christ are the salt of the earth. Salt preserves. In this world we see so much corruption and decay the salt was meant to change that. When you add salt to a dish that has no flavor, the salt is so bold that all of a sudden it tastes so much better! However, if the salt has no flavor it is no good. You throw it away. In Biblical times men would cast it out into the streets, and walk on it. Dare I say it is possible to lose your salvation? Salt that has lost his (its) savor is no good, of no help. Who do we see that is cast out by Jesus? satan. Who is trodden under our feet? satan Salt is good: but if the salt has lost his savour, how shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the pile of pooh: but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear. Luke 14:35 If you say you can help to preserve and yet you don't have Words of Life in you, you are good for nothing. If you cannot stop someone from decaying away in their hopelessness by sharing the good news of the gospel, what good are you? Let's be like the salt they use on icy bridges!! When we encounter a cold hearted icy person, let's melt that off with our salt!! For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Salt is good: but if the salt has lost his saltiness, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Mark 9:49-50 We as Christians are supposed to help to preserve life, point the way to Jesus and to eternity. We are to be bold like the flavor of salt to stand up and speak out the Words of Life. If we say we are Christians and yet we do not profess Christ openly, we have no flavor, no saltiness. To have salt in yourselves, you must have Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit must reside in you, then you will have peace with each other because Jesus is the Prince of Peace!!! You should know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt. 2 Chron.13:5 Eating salt together signified an unbreakable friendship. Salt was used as a preservative. Therefore, it was an appropriate symbol for eternity. A covenant of salt could not be changed. HAVE YOU MADE THAT COVENANT OF SALT WITH JESUS CHRIST???
